  How can I convince my parents to vote?

  hey, first off i didn't know where to post either here or in the poltics section?

  but anyways, for the canadians on this board you all know there is the federal ellection in one month.

  now i do remember there are a number of articals that say, or rather don't say its not allowed to vote.

  yes, collective groups wield power. mobs for example. or lobbies. but votes? that's the "new" panem et circensis to keep people satisfied.

  i've always heard this, but this is the first time i've actually seen it for myself!.

  you can say the same about greek or norse "history". the only difference is that greek and norse mythology is not as boring as huge parts of the bible.

  not really a good point, lovelylil. there was no temple.

  but if you refer to the tabernacle, i'd like to know where you get the idea of jewish nuns from... i have never heard of it.

  i get a kick out of the posters that get upset over realizing that their opinions are not always appreciated.

  the forum owner has made it plain that he calls the shots and not everything expressed by posters will be accepted.. folks, that's thev way it's always been here.

  it's not a historical event anyway. the hebrews came from a culture of burning animals and previously humans. the stories about abraham & isaac, jephta and his dauther etc. are memories of old stories that were changed and adapted over time and made into that collection of books that was written hundrets of years later. it's like arguing about whether king arthur did find the holy grail or not.

  but yes, of course the NWT is written for JW doctrine. pretty much every bible out there has some spin. they also "corrected" numerous contradictions, especially numbers.

  but what would voting change? they'd be voting adults in a cult...

  or do you think the topic of voting would shake their world so much as they'd leave the org?

  there was just too much that didn't add up, backed by weak arguments. at one point i just felt i could not go door to door telling people stuff i don't buy myself.

  If I ran the WTS ...

  ... and wanted to disrupt sites like this one and activities of 'apostates' in general, what would i do?.

  would i send apologists who were obviously on the side of the wts to spew out the typical wts message, ones that would be quickly labelled and disagreed with?

  maybe ... it would get people riled up.

  so they are the fds, because they broke free between 1914-1918. and 1914-1918 is important because the FDS says so... couldn't read much further, makes me feel sick. because i can just imagine how many of my family swallow it, think it's logical and even go and tell it to other people who can't think straight.
